About Us
Boho Campers is about our love for old vehicles and the hand built upcycling of old ambulances. We believe these old service vehicles deserve a second chance. We have at present, one camper that we have restored - The Glambulance ! We are busy restoring the Retro BMC, the camper that brings a smile!.
The Glambulance
The Glambulance - She is a 1998 Mercedes Sprinter 312D, originally from the Scottish Ambulance Service. After her service life, she was sold into private ownership. When we bought her she had most of her original features. We lovingly created a comfortable and stylish interior with an ethnic flavour, mostly recycled wood and gifts from nature.
The Retro BMC - available soon!
The BMC - She is a 1971 BMC LD ambulance originally from Lancashire. Found in a field in South Devon, where she had been standing for 28 years! We bought her from the owner for scrap value. It was previously owned by two Auzzie guys that travelled England, Wales and Europe in the early 80's. This is what she looked like before we got our hands on her.
And so our journey with this little character began...
A friend of ours set us a challenge, as a joke, to get this old lady back on the road. We took up the challenge and within three months, drove her to Portugal.
We are giving her a make-over at present. The Retro BMC will be available for hire by the end of 2019.
We trust you will like our campers like we do and we welcome you to tell us about your travels!
